About the Artist

Chung Sin-wa graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University. She is currently a Production Officer at Hong Kong Open Printshop. Chung’s practice focuses on painting and printmaking, where the artist portrays moments, sceneries and feelings she experiences at night. She attempts to explore various materials in her work to present a profound and intimate ambience. Chung has previously participated in exhibitions including Pathfinder (Kunstquartier Bethanien, 2020), Hot Bed Press’ 20:20 Print Exchange (Koo Ming Kown Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Baptist University, 2018), and Ink Asia (Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 2017).

As smoke dissipates swiftly, leaving no trace behind—will one remember its existence? Chung Sin-wa’s intaglio print encapsulates the silhouette of smoke, manifesting an inexpressible trauma.
